Estonia is mainly for IT and engineering fields of study. Fields like Arts are carried in the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA). The Estonian Academy of Arts is the country’s first and only public university, teaching fine arts, design, architecture, media, visual studies, art culture, cultural heritage, and conservation. Founded in 1914, the Academy offers over 30 curricula in the four faculties of Architecture, Design, Art Culture and Fine Arts. Courses offered at the Estonian Academy of Arts
Design and Crafts, Animation, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Contemporary Art, and Urban Studies are among the six Master’s programs taught in English at EKA. Ceramics, glass art and design, jewellery and blacksmithing, textile design, leather art and design, and fashion design are among the specializations available in Design and Crafts. Art and Design, as well as Architecture and Urban Planning, are two full-time PhD programs offered by the institution. Master’s programs last two years (120 ECTS), while doctoral programs last four years (240 ECTS).
